Aleut and Eskimo Art

Ray, D. J. (1981). Aleut and Eskimo Art. Seattle: Univerisity of Washington Press.

In the book, Aleut and Eskimo Art by Dorothy Jean Ray, she talks about the difference of Aleut and Eskimo art. She explains the difference in the bentwood hats and the wood carvings. She tells the difference in many other pieces of art as well. But these two different pieces of art caught my attention the most. They look a lot alike but yet they are so different. I found some pictures (above) that specified what she was talking about.
She explains how the Aleuts and the Eskimos were very similar. How some of their art was similar with just the tiniest bit of change. I can see it in the art above. It's just very intriguing.
